While the historic Gunderloch estate is globally synonymous with world-class Riesling from the red clay-slate of the Roter Hang, their Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) offers a captivating look at the estate's versatility and the diverse terroirs of Rheinhessen. Sourced from carefully managed, ecologically farmed vineyards, this dry white wine captures the modern spirit of German Pinot Blanc. Fermented primarily in stainless steel with a portion sometimes aged in traditional large oak casks (Stückfass), it balances a creamy, textured mouthfeel with a vibrant, refreshing acidity. The wine reflects the ancient agricultural heritage of the region, where Pinot varieties have thrived for centuries, delivering a beautifully pure expression of yellow orchard fruits, subtle white blossoms, and a fine, stony minerality.
