Hailing from the wind-swept Orkney Islands of Scotland, Highland Park is legendary for its Viking heritage and unique distilling traditions dating back to 1798. Founded by the smuggler Magnus Eunson, the distillery relies on local Hobbister Moor peat, which is rich in heather and imparts a distinctively sweet, floral smokiness. This exceptional 'Full Cask' single malt expression, aged in a second-fill red wine barrique (Cask No 136), beautifully marries Highland Park's signature heather-honey and light peat smoke with the rich red fruit, subtle spice, and structured oak tannins imparted by the wine-seasoned wood. The maritime climate of Orkney ensures a slow, even maturation, resulting in a complex, deeply layered spirit.
