Hailing from the legendary Grand Cru village of Aÿ, Jacques Selosse's Lieux-Dits Côte Faron is a masterclass in the expression of single-vineyard terroir. This steep, south-facing parcel has a historic reputation; the wines of Aÿ were so celebrated in antiquity that King Henri IV of France famously claimed the title of 'Lord of Aÿ' alongside his royal duties. Anselme Selosse captures this historic terroir using a solera-style system of fractional blending, aging the wine in oak casks to introduce a controlled, majestic oxidation. This Blanc de Noirs is renowned for its profound complexity, balancing the natural power and red-fruit structure of Aÿ Pinot Noir with Selosse's signature oxidative complexity, vibrant acidity, and deep, chalky minerality.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1949 in the Grand Cru village of Avize, Champagne Jacques Selosse rose to legendary status under the visionary leadership of Anselme Selosse, who took over the estate in 1974. Applying Burgundian winemaking philosophies to the Côte des Blancs, Anselme pioneered low yields, organic viticulture, and fermentation in oak casks, fundamentally transforming modern Champagne production. The estate is celebrated for its highly individualistic, terroir-driven cuvées, including the solera-aged Substance and the acclaimed Lieux-dits series, which showcase an unparalleled depth, oxidative complexity, and vinous character.
