✨ Technical Specifications
Jean-Claude Ramonet's Auxey-Duresses 'Les Durots' Blanc is a brilliant showcase of the estate's mastery outside of its legendary Chassagne-Montrachet stronghold. Located in the valley of Auxey-Duresses, bordering Meursault, the 'Les Durots' climat benefits from a cooler microclimate and clay-limestone soils that yield a Chardonnay of remarkable tension and mineral drive. Ramonet applies the same meticulous, low-intervention winemaking here as they do for their Grand Crus: traditional fermentation in oak barrels and careful lees aging. This results in a white Burgundy that beautifully balances the signature Ramonet reduction and flinty minerality with the bright, crisp orchard fruit typical of Auxey-Duresses, offering a highly sought-after, accessible window into the house style.
🍾 About the Producer
Established officially in 1930 by patriarch Pierre Ramonet, Domaine Ramonet stands as one of the Côte de Beaune's most revered viticultural benchmark estates. Beginning from humble parcels in Les Grandes Ruchottes purchased in 1934, the domaine expanded its historical holdings across iconic Jurassic limestone and clay marl terroirs in Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, famously acquiring a prized sliver of Grand Cru Le Montrachet in 1978. Now steered by third-generation vigneron Jean-Claude Ramonet alongside his family, the estate cultivates approximately 17 hectares under sustainable, lutte raisonnée practices with rigorous yield limitation and soil plowing. In the cellar, low-intervention vinification emphasizes gentle pneumatic pressing, native yeast fermentation with minimal racking, and measured oak maturation. Renowned for Chardonnays of astonishing concentration, signature spearmint freshness, and profound mineral tension, Ramonet's benchmark portfolio spans Premier Crus like Clos du Cailleret and Ruchottes, legendary Grand Crus Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, as well as deeply expressive Pinot Noirs such as Clos de la Boudriotte.
