The Wintricher Ohligsberg is a legendary steep-slope vineyard situated along a dramatic bend of the Mosel River. Renowned since the 19th century for producing some of the region's most exquisite wines, this site features a unique microclimate and soils dominated by weathered blue Devonian slate with quartz. Julian Haart's Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Auslese 1* is a masterclass in balance, capturing the intense concentration of noble rot while maintaining a breathtaking, feather-light agility. Harvested entirely by hand from old vines on these dizzying slopes, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation in traditional cellars. The resulting wine is a brilliant interplay of luscious stone fruit sweetness, electric acidity, and a deep, smoky mineral tension that reflects the dramatic terroir of the Mosel.

Established in 2010 by Julian Haart in the historic winegrowing village of Piesport, this Mosel estate has quickly risen to cult status. Having trained under legendary mentors like Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller, Haart applies a meticulous, hands-on approach to farming steep, slate-rich grand cru vineyards such as Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Schubertslay, and Wintricher Ohligsberg. The estate's winemaking philosophy relies on organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation in traditional oak Fuder, and minimal intervention to preserve the natural tension and purity of the fruit. Julian Haart is globally celebrated for producing incredibly precise, mineral-driven, and elegant Rieslings, particularly his legendary, feather-light Kabinett expressions.
