This highly collectible single malt whisky was selected and bottled to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the renowned spirits importer Velier. Distilled in November 2011 at Taiwan's pioneering Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, this expression was aged in a single rum cask (Cask No. M111104067A) and bottled at cask strength in 2017. Kavalan's unique subtropical environment accelerates the wood extraction process, allowing the spirit to develop immense depth and complexity in a relatively short period. The rum cask influence introduces rich notes of caramelized sugar, tropical fruits, and warm baking spices, beautifully complementing Kavalan's signature orchard fruit and floral character.

Founded in 2005 by the King Car Group under founder Tien-Tsai Lee, Kavalan Distillery is located in Yuanshan Township within Yilan County, Taiwan. Named after the indigenous Kavalan people of the Yilan plain, the distillery pioneered world-class Taiwanese single malt whisky production using mineral-rich meltwater sourced from the nearby Snow Mountain range. Kavalan capitalizes on Taiwan's intense subtropical climate, which accelerates the wood maturation process to yield remarkably complex, rich, and mature flavor profiles in a compressed timeframe.
