Hailing from the lush, subtropical Yilan County in Taiwan, Kavalan's Solist ex-Bourbon Cask Strength is a masterclass in rapid maturation. Utilizing the pristine, mineral-rich meltwater of the nearby Snow Mountain range, the distillery benefits from Taiwan's intense heat and humidity, which accelerates the interaction between the spirit and the wood. This 'subtropical aging' results in a maturation rate far quicker than that of traditional Scottish distilleries, losing a massive 'angel's share' of up to 15% annually but gaining immense complexity. Matured in hand-selected American ex-bourbon casks, this non-chill-filtered single malt showcases a vibrant, golden hue and is celebrated for its multi-layered profile of tropical fruits, fresh coconut, vanilla, and soft spices, capturing the unique terroir of Taiwan's dramatic landscape.

Kavalan Distillery blev grundlagt i 2005 af King Car Group under ledelse af grundlægger Tien-Tsai Lee og er beliggende i Yuanshan i Yilan-distriktet på Taiwan.
