This 'subtropical aging' results in a maturation rate far quicker than that of traditional Scottish distilleries, losing a massive 'angel's share' of up to 15% annually but gaining immense complexity. Matured in hand-selected American ex-bourbon casks, this non-chill-filtered single malt showcases a vibrant, golden hue and is celebrated for its multi-layered profile of tropical fruits, fresh coconut, vanilla, and soft spices, capturing the unique terroir of Taiwan's dramatic landscape.

Founded in 2005 by the King Car Group under founder Tien-Tsai Lee, Kavalan Distillery is located in Yuanshan Township within Yilan County, Taiwan. Named after the indigenous Kavalan people of the Yilan plain, the distillery pioneered world-class Taiwanese single malt whisky production using mineral-rich meltwater sourced from the nearby Snow Mountain range.
