The Jackson Estate Alisos Hills Syrah is a testament to the dramatic, wind-swept terroir of Santa Barbara County. Nestled in the cool Alisos Canyon region, this vineyard benefits from a unique transverse mountain range configuration, which allows chilly Pacific marine breezes and morning fog to sweep directly into the vines. This natural air conditioning slows the ripening process, allowing the Syrah grapes to develop deep complexity, thick skins, and intense phenolic ripeness without losing their vibrant natural acidity. Grown on steep, well-drained slopes of sandy loam soils, the vines are naturally low-yielding, producing small, concentrated berries. The resulting wine is a sophisticated nod to the Northern Rhône style, balancing intense dark fruit with savory undertones of cracked black pepper, olive tapenade, and smoked meats, all framed by refined tannins from careful French oak aging.

Kendall-Jackson blev grundlagt i 1982 af Jess Jackson og har siden udviklet sig til et af californisk vinavl mest velkendte ikoner, stadig drevet som en familieejet virksomhed anført af Barbara Banke. Vingården har base i Russian River Valley med Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens i Santa Rosa og dyrker egne parceller i førsteklasses kystnære terroirs på tværs af Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Monterey og Santa Barbara County.
