The name 'Seco' (meaning dry in Spanish) refers to the ancient, gravelly riverbed that defines this unique terroir. Here, the vineyard is subjected to a dramatic daily cooling cycle, where fierce winds from the nearby Monterey Bay rush through the valley, forcing the vines to struggle and resulting in thick-skinned, highly concentrated Pinot Noir grapes.
