✨ Technical Specifications
The premium 'Bagueri' line pays homage to Count Silverio de Baguer, a Spanish nobleman and diplomat who settled in the Dobrovo Castle during the late 19th century and elevated the region's viticulture to aristocratic standards. Crafted from hand-harvested Sivi Pinot (Pinot Grigio) grown on the steep, mineral-rich marl terraces of Goriška Brda, known locally as 'opoka', this wine represents a sophisticated, structured departure from light, mass-market Pinot Grigios. To achieve its signature complexity, the grapes undergo a short maceration, followed by fermentation and maturation in a combination of French oak barriques and large oak casks on fine lees. This traditional method imparts a rich, golden-copper hue, a creamy texture, and a complex bouquet of ripe pear, red apple, dried flowers, and delicate vanilla undertones.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1957 as a cooperative uniting local winegrowing families, Klet Brda is the leading wine producer in the picturesque Goriška Brda region of western Slovenia, situated between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Working with hundreds of multi-generational families who tend steep, terraced vineyards planted on distinctive flysch and sandstone soils known locally as 'opoka', the winery seamlessly merges centuries of viticultural tradition with state-of-the-art cellar techniques. The estate is celebrated for its diverse portfolio spanning crisp sparkling wines, vibrant whites, and structured reds, with particular distinction in indigenous and regional varieties such as Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) and Sauvignonasse alongside international mainstays across acclaimed collections like the fresh, fruit-forward Quercus line.
