Crafted by the prestigious La Rioja Alta, S.A. group at their picturesque Torre de Oña estate in Rioja Alavesa, Finca San Martín Crianza is a vibrant, modern expression of 100% Tempranillo. Nestled in the shadow of the Sierra de Cantabria mountains in Páganos-Laguardia, the vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate and nutrient-rich clay-limestone soils. This terroir imparts a distinct freshness and elegant minerality to the grapes. Since acquiring the estate in 1995, La Rioja Alta has championed a chateau-concept here, focusing on precision and terroir expression. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation followed by approximately 16 months of aging in a combination of new American oak and second-use French oak barrels. This careful wood program preserves the bright, juicy red fruit character of the Tempranillo while adding subtle layers of sweet spice, vanilla, and cocoa, resulting in a beautifully balanced, approachable Crianza.
