Laurent-Perrier's Alexandra Grande Cuvee Rose is a legendary prestige cuvee born from a secret passion project of Bernard de Nonancourt, who created this rare rose to present to his eldest daughter, Alexandra, on her wedding day in 1987. Unlike most rose Champagnes made by blending red and white wines, Alexandra is crafted through a rare and demanding co-maceration process. Pinot Noir (typically around 80%) from celebrated Grand Crus like Ambonnay and Bouzy is macerated together with Chardonnay (around 20%) from the Cote des Blancs. This simultaneous maceration of two distinct grape varieties requires meticulous timing to extract the perfect delicate salmon-pink hue and complex aromatic profile without overpowering the wine. Aged for a minimum of a decade on its lees in the chalk cellars of Tours-sur-Marne, this Champagne is only released in exceptional vintage years, offering a sublime balance of red berry intensity, mineral precision, and velvety texture.
