Chapoutier's 'La Ciboise' Rouge is named in honor of the historic family property where Michel Chapoutier's grandfather once lived. This cuvée captures the vibrant, easy-drinking spirit of the region, which is designated as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Grown on limestone-rich soils at slightly higher altitudes, the grapes benefit from cooler nights that preserve essential acidity. The winemaking philosophy here focuses on purity of fruit, utilizing traditional fermentation in concrete or stainless steel vats without oak aging to maintain a bright, unoaked profile rich in red berries, wild herbs, and subtle peppery spice.
