Masi's Mazzano is a legendary single-vineyard Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, sourced from a historic plot in the municipality of Negrar that has been celebrated for its exceptional quality since the 12th century. This austere and majestic red is crafted using the traditional appassimento method, where hand-harvested Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes are dried on bamboo racks in drying lofts over the winter months to concentrate their sugars, aromas, and tannins. The vineyard's high altitude, terraced topography, and limestone-rich soils impart a distinctive mineral complexity and robust structure. Following a slow fermentation, the wine undergoes extensive aging in Slavonian and French oak casks.
