The historic Serego Alighieri estate in Valpolicella boasts a poetic lineage, having been purchased in 1353 by Pietro Alighieri, son of the supreme poet Dante Alighieri. Managed in collaboration with the Masi family, the estate produces 'Vaio Armaron,' a legendary Amarone believed by many to be the very vineyard from which the name 'Amarone' itself originated. This landmark red is crafted using the traditional appassimento method, where hand-selected Corvina, Rondinella, and the estate's unique clone of Molinara grapes are dried on bamboo racks during the winter months to concentrate their sugars and flavors. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a signature aging process that includes a brief period in cherry wood casks—a traditional practice of the estate—before finishing in oak, resulting in an incredibly complex, structured, and velvety wine rich with notes of dark cherries, dried plums, sweet spices, and cocoa.

Established in 1772 when the Boscaini family acquired premium vineyards in the small valley named 'Vaio dei Masi', Masi Agricola has grown into one of the most iconic and respected estates in Veneto's Valpolicella Classica zone. Managed for generations by the Boscaini family, the winery has become globally renowned for championing and modernizing the traditional appassimento method, transforming indigenous grapes such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara into rich, age-worthy masterpieces. In addition to creating the revolutionary 'Supervenetian' Campofiorin in the 1960s and collaborating with the historic Serego Alighieri counts, Masi is celebrated worldwide for its benchmark Amarone della Valpolicella expressions, including the prestigious Costasera, Mazzano, and Campolongo di Torbe.
