✨ Technical Specifications
Familia Torres, a cornerstone of Catalan winemaking heritage, has been crafting this luscious sweet nectar since 1946, making it one of the house's most enduring and beloved creations. Produced in Catalunya, Floralis Moscatel Oro is a classic fortified sweet wine made from the ancient Muscat of Alexandria grape—a variety steeped in Mediterranean history and rumored to have been spread by ancient Phoenician traders. To capture the pure, opulent essence of the grape, the fermentation of the must is halted early by the addition of fine wine alcohol, preserving the natural, unfermented grape sugars. This traditional process yields a wine of striking amber intensity, boasting a perfume of orange blossom, honey, and candied citrus fruits that pays homage to the sun-drenched coastal vineyards of its homeland.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1870 by brothers Jaime and Miguel Torres Vendrell, Familia Torres stands as one of Spain's most historically influential and forward-thinking wine dynasties. Spanning prime estates across Catalonia (Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Priorat, and Costers del Segre) as well as Rías Baixas and Ribera del Duero, the house negotiates a mosaic of terroirs—from maritime granitic soils in Galicia to high-elevation calcareous clay and slate in northeastern Spain. Viticulturally celebrated for pioneering the Torres & Earth climate program, co-founding International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), and advancing regenerative farming, the estate also champions the revival of pre-phylloxera ancestral varieties like Forcada. Vinification balances precise temperature control, native yeasts, and specialized aging vessels ranging from granite vats to traditional oak casks. Benchmarks such as Pazo Torre Penelas Blanco Granito, Sons de Prades, Forcada, and Esplendor Vardon Kennett reflect an unwavering commitment to site specificity, structural clarity, and sustainable viticultural excellence.
