Born in 1962 from the visionary mind of Miguel A. Torres, Vina Sol was a revolutionary force in Spanish winemaking. At a time when Spanish white wines were often heavy and oxidized, Torres sought to capture the pure, sun-drenched essence of the Mediterranean. He achieved this by pioneering cold fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks—a technique virtually unheard of in Spain at the time. The backbone of Vina Sol is the traditional Catalan grape Parellada, grown in the cooler, high-altitude parcels of Catalunya, which imparts delicate floral aromas and crisp acidity. This historic white wine remains a benchmark of fresh, vibrant Mediterranean character, celebrating over half a century of bright, fruit-forward elegance.
