Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage Collection represents the pinnacle of the house's library of matured champagnes. While the standard Grand Vintage is released after about seven years, the Collection releases are kept on their lees in the deep chalk cellars of Épernay for much longer—often fifteen years or more—before disgorgement. Each Grand Vintage is a unique creation by the Chef de Cave, representing a subjective and free interpretation of the specific year's harvest. The history of Moët's vintage champagnes dates back to 1842, when the house created its first vintage to satisfy the demands of British and American connoisseurs who sought more characterful, single-year expressions. These rare bottles showcase an incredible tension between mature, tertiary complexity (toasted brioche, dried fruits, honey) and remarkable, preserved freshness.
