Part of Viña Morandé's innovative 'Adventure' series, 'Despechado' (meaning 'scorned' or 'heartbroken') is a creative tribute to Pinot Noir's notorious reputation as the 'heartbreak grape'—notoriously difficult to cultivate and temperamental to vinify. Sourced from the cool-climate Casablanca Valley within the greater Aconcagua region, this wine is crafted with a minimal-intervention philosophy. The winemaking team utilizes concrete eggs and open-top fermenters to encourage a natural expression of the fruit, avoiding heavy oak influence or intense filtration. This rustic, authentic approach coaxes out a vibrant, earthy, and wild berry character, reclaiming Pinot Noir from its fussy reputation and celebrating its raw, energetic soul.
