✨ Technical Specifications

Viña Morandé's 'Pionero' range pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of founder Pablo Morandé, who famously redefined Chilean viticulture by championing new regions and techniques. Sourced from the fertile soils of Chile's Central Valley, this Merlot Reserva captures the essence of the region's Mediterranean climate, where warm, sunny days are tempered by cool evening breezes from the Andes. The wine is crafted to emphasize fresh, vibrant fruit characteristics, undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by brief aging with oak to add subtle complexity without overshadowing the grape's natural plushness.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1996 by visionary winemaker Pablo Morandé—widely recognized for pioneering cool-climate viticulture in the Casablanca Valley—Viña Morandé stands among Chile's most inventive and respected wine producers. Operating across premier terroirs spanning the Casablanca, Maipo, Cachapoal, and Maule valleys, the estate blends traditional craftsmanship with relentless innovation, utilizing unconventional aging vessels such as concrete eggs, ceramic amphorae, and large French oak foudres. The winery produces a comprehensive spectrum of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, highlighted by the benchmark Gran Reserva series, terroir-driven Terrarum range, and the flagship Bordeaux-style blend, House of Morandé. Guided by a philosophy of authentic terroir expression and stylistic daring, Morandé consistently showcases the dynamic potential and regional diversity of contemporary Chilean viticulture.
