Bodegas Muga, established in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, is an iconic pillar of Haro's legendary Barrio de la Estación in Rioja Alta. The Selección Especial Reserva represents a harmonious marriage of traditional Riojan craftsmanship and meticulous vineyard selection. Sourced from clay-limestone terraces carved into the foothills of the Montes Obarenes, this wine is typically a blend dominated by Tempranillo, complemented by Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. Muga remains one of the very few estates in Spain to employ an in-house cooperage, crafting its own custom oak casks. The wine undergoes fermentation in large wooden vats using indigenous yeasts, followed by at least 26 months of aging in selected oak barrels, and is traditionally clarified using fresh egg whites. This painstaking process yields a deeply complex red, boasting dark fruit, plush spices, and a signature mineral-driven structure that reflects the cool Atlantic influences of the region.

Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, Bodegas Muga is a legendary family-owned estate located in the historic Barrio de la Estación of Haro, in the Rioja Alta region of Spain. Renowned for its uncompromising adherence to traditional winemaking methods, the winery is one of the few in Spain to maintain its own active cooperage, crafting and maintaining all of its oak vats and casks on-site. Muga's philosophy centers on natural clarification using fresh egg whites and extensive oak aging to produce wines of exceptional elegance, structure, and longevity. The estate is celebrated for iconic expressions such as the classically styled Prado Enea Gran Reserva, the modern and powerful Torre Muga, and the refined Conde de Haro sparkling Cava.
