✨ wine.spec_sheet

Doda is a legendary collaboration born from the friendship and shared vision of two of Portugal's most iconic winemakers: Dirk Niepoort of the Douro and Alvaro Castro of Quinta da Pellada in the Dao. The wine's name itself is a playful portmanteau of these two historic regions. This unique red represents a marriage of contrasting terroirs: the intense, sun-drenched schist slopes of the Douro Valley and the cooler, high-altitude granitic soils of the Dao. The blend typically combines classic Douro varieties like Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz with Dao stalwarts such as Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Touriga Nacional. Vinified separately in their respective regions before being blended and aged in French oak casks, Doda harmonizes the robust structure and dark fruit of the Douro with the mineral elegance, fresh acidity, and floral aromatics of the Dao.
