✨ wine.spec_sheet

Niepoort's venture into the Dão region culminated in the creation of Rótulo Tinto, a wine designed to showcase the traditional, elegant, and fresh side of this historic Portuguese appellation. 'Rótulo' translates to 'label,' symbolizing a return to the essential, unadorned identity of the Dão terroir. Sourced from vineyards planted on granitic soils at high altitudes, this red blend typically features local varieties such as Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Touriga Nacional. To preserve its vibrant fruit profile and distinct mineral backbone, the wine is fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel and cement vats rather than oak barrels. This minimalist winemaking approach honors the historical Dão style, delivering a wine of remarkable freshness, light-to-medium body, and fine-grained tannins.
