✨ wine.spec_sheet
Niepoort's 10 Year Old White Port is a masterclass in oxidative aging, showcasing a style that bridges the freshness of youth with the complex, nutty depth of maturity. Sourced from traditional white grape varieties—such as Códega, Rabigato, Viosinho, Arinto, and Gouveio—grown in the rugged schist soils of the Douro Valley, the grapes undergo a short maceration before fermenting. The wine is then aged for an average of ten years in small, historic oak casks (pipas) in the cool cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia. Over this decade, the wine transforms from a pale straw hue into a brilliant golden-amber, developing a mesmerizing bouquet of dried apricots, orange peel, honey, and toasted almonds, balanced by a vibrant, mineral-driven acidity that is a hallmark of Dirk Niepoort's winemaking philosophy.
