Overture is the second wine of Opus One, produced as a multi-vintage Bordeaux-style red blend from the estate's vineyards in Oakville, Napa Valley. The wine typically comprises Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Because it is a multi-vintage blend, it combines lot selections from different years, which are aged in French oak barrels. This production method aims to deliver a wine that exhibits a softer, more approachable structure upon release while maintaining the complexity and terroir-driven character of the estate's Oakville soils.

Founded in 1979 as a visionary joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and renowned Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi, Opus One was created to craft a single, uncompromising Bordeaux-style blend in California. Located in the prestigious Oakville AVA of Napa Valley, the estate seamlessly marries Old World winemaking heritage and precision with the luminous fruit and expressive terroir of the New World.
