✨ wine.spec_sheet

Osborne, a historic house founded in 1772, brings its centuries of aging expertise to the Douro Valley with this exceptional 20-Year-Old Tawny Port. Sourced from the steep, schistous slopes of the Douro, this wine is crafted from traditional grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. The wine undergoes a slow, oxidative maturation in seasoned oak casks within the lodge of Vila Nova de Gaia. Over two decades, the wood contact transforms the wine's youthful purple hues into a warm, translucent amber. This patient process coaxes out complex, tertiary aromas of dried apricots, toasted hazelnuts, butterscotch, and exotic spices, resulting in a velvety texture and a remarkably long, nutty finish that pays homage to Portugal's grand fortified winemaking tradition.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1772 by English merchant Thomas Osborne Mann in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain, Grupo Osborne is one of the oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits houses in the Iberian Peninsula. While deeply rooted in the Sherry Triangle of Andalusia, Spain, the house also boasts a historic legacy in Portugal's Douro Valley and Vila Nova de Gaia, crafting exceptional Port wines alongside their legendary Sherries. Osborne's production philosophy centers on meticulous aging, utilizing the traditional dynamic solera system for their Sherries in Spain and classic lodge maturation for their Ports in Portugal. Their highly acclaimed portfolio ranges from rare, decades-old Sherries like the Venerable Pedro Ximénez 30YO and Bailén Oloroso to elegant, structured Ports including aged Tawnies, Late Bottled Vintages, and classic Rubies.
