La Petite Chapelle is the highly esteemed second wine of Paul Jaboulet Aîné's legendary Hermitage 'La Chapelle'. It shares its name and heritage with the iconic stone chapel of Saint-Christophe, which sits atop the Hermitage hill, originally built by the 13th-century knight Gaspard de Stérimberg. Crafted from 100% Syrah, this cuvée is sourced from the same historic, sun-drenched granite terraces of the Hermitage appellation, but utilizes parcels and younger vines that yield a more supple, approachable character in their youth. The wine is vinified with meticulous care and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a classic Northern Rhône expression that balances rich dark fruit, black pepper, and savory olive tapenade notes with elegant, velvety tannins.
