Hailing from the steep, granite terraces of the Saint-Joseph appellation on the right bank of the Rhône River, Le Grand Pompée Blanc is a beautiful expression of Northern Rhône white winemaking. The cuvée owes its name to the legendary warrior Le Grand Pompée, who, according to local folklore, fought alongside Charlemagne on these very hillsides. Crafted from Marsanne, this wine benefits from the unique granitic soils that impart a distinct mineral tension and structure. Paul Jaboulet Aîné vinifies this cuvée with a careful balance of stainless steel to preserve the vibrant, fresh pear and floral aromas, and oak barrel aging to develop a rich, round texture with notes of toasted almonds, honey, and beeswax. It represents a classic, terroir-driven white Saint-Joseph of great elegance.

Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the most revered estates in the Rhône Valley, situated along the storied slopes of Tain-l'Hermitage.
