Hailing from the dizzyingly steep, terraced slopes of Cote-Rotie in the northern Rhone Valley, Les Pierrelles by Paul Jaboulet Aine is a masterful expression of Syrah grown on stony, schist-rich soils. The name itself, derived from the French word for stones, pays homage to the fractured rock and granite-laced terroir that forces the vines to dig deep for nutrients. Under the stewardship of winemaker Caroline Frey, this cuvee benefits from organic and biodynamic farming practices. The grapes are hand-harvested from precipitous cliffs where mechanization is impossible, and aged in French oak barrels. This meticulous process coaxes out Cote-Rotie's signature aromatic complexity, blending dark bramble fruit with cracked black pepper, violet, and a subtle smoky minerality.

Founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet, Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the most revered estates in the Rhône Valley, situated along the storied slopes of Tain-l'Hermitage.
