✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the unique enclave of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois in the Languedoc, this sweet Vin Doux Naturel is crafted by Paul Mas to showcase the exceptional expression of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. Grown on a high-altitude, sun-drenched limestone plateau where the white stones reflect heat by day and cool mountain breezes preserve acidity by night, the grapes develop intense aromatic concentration. The winemaking follows the traditional mutage process, where neutral grape spirit is added to the fermenting must to halt fermentation, preserving the grape's natural luscious sugars and vibrant fresh fruit character. Historically, Muscat from this region has been prized since Roman times for its exquisite balance of sweetness and refreshing acidity.
🍾 About the Producer
Rooted in a viticultural heritage dating back to 1892, Domaines Paul Mas in its modern form was established in 2000 by visionary winemaker Jean-Claude Mas near Pézenas in the Languedoc region of southern France. Driven by the philosophy of 'Luxe Rural'—creating accessible, everyday luxury wines—the estate seamlessly marries centuries-old French tradition with dynamic, New World-inspired winemaking techniques. Across an expansive collection of distinct terroirs spanning the Languedoc, Roussillon, and Mediterranean coastline, the domaine practices meticulous and sustainable viticulture. Domaines Paul Mas is widely celebrated for its expressive single-varietal bottlings, such as Marsanne and Syrah under the Les Tannes label, charming regional blends like Claude Val, and refined appellation wines from Pézenas.
