Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay is a sophisticated representation of cool-climate Australian winemaking. Originally launched in 2005 as a single-region wine sourcing exclusively from the high-altitude, cool-climate vineyards of Tumbarumba in New South Wales, Bin 311 has evolved. In keeping with Penfolds' historic philosophy of multi-regional blending, the sourcing has expanded to include other premium cool-climate regions like the Adelaide Hills and Tasmania. Often referred to by enthusiasts as 'Baby Yattarna'—in homage to Penfolds' flagship white wine—Bin 311 is styled to exhibit elegance, mineral drive, and vibrant acidity. The wine undergoes barrel fermentation and maturation in French oak, with only a small percentage of new oak used to ensure the pristine stone fruit and citrus characteristics remain at the forefront, supported by a subtle, creamy texture from partial malolactic fermentation.
