Pereira D'Oliveira's 15 Year Old Dry Madeira is a masterclass in the transformative power of time and volcanic terroir. Sourced from steep, hand-tended terraces overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the grapes for this dry style—traditionally Sercial—are defined by their searing natural acidity. The wine undergoes the historic canteiro aging process, where it rests in seasoned oak casks in the warm lofts of Funchal. Over fifteen years, the gentle, passive heat coaxes out extraordinary complexity, evaporating water and concentrating the wine's essence. This slow oxidation tempers the grape's fierce acidity into a high-toned, electric backbone, surrounded by savory, smoky, and nutty nuances that tell the centuries-old story of Madeira's maritime trade.
