Perelada's Semi Sec Cava is an off-dry sparkling wine crafted in Catalonia using the traditional method (Método Tradicional). Drawing from a long heritage of winemaking in the medieval village of Peralada, this expressive sparkling wine is crafted from the classic Catalan trio of Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada. Secondary fermentation in the bottle followed by aging on the lees develops a delicate creaminess and subtle notes of brioche, perfectly balancing the wine's gentle sweetness and bright acidity. Rich with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus, and spring flowers, it offers a rounded, approachable style deeply rooted in Mediterranean celebrations.

Tracing its winemaking tradition back to the 14th century when Carmelite monks tended the castle vineyards, modern Perelada was established in 1923 when Miquel Mateu purchased the historic estate in Peralada, located within Catalonia's DO Empordà region in Spain. Owned and operated by the Suqué Mateu family, the winery marries centuries of heritage with modern innovation, exemplified by its state-of-the-art, LEED Gold-certified eco-winery opened in 2022. The estate crafts a diverse range of top-tier wines and Cavas by cultivating five unique vineyard sites that leverage both Mediterranean sea breezes and diverse soils. Perelada is globally acclaimed for its elegant Gran Claustro series, fine traditional-method Cavas, and expressive single-vineyard red blends like Finca Malaveïna, which champion indigenous varieties such as Garnatxa and Samsó alongside international grapes.
