Philippe Charlopin's Bourgogne Rouge 'Cuvée Prestige' serves as a luxurious introduction to the estate's signature style, reflecting the profound influence of the legendary Henri Jayer. Sourced primarily from old vines planted on the clay-limestone soils bordering Gevrey-Chambertin, this cuvée receives the same meticulous craftsmanship as the domaine's prestigious Grand Crus. Following Jayer's philosophy, the grapes undergo total destemming and a cold pre-fermentation maceration to coax out intense color, pure fruit aromatics, and silky tannins. Aged in French oak barrels, this wine is celebrated for its unusually rich, supple texture and deep concentration of dark berry fruit, offering a sophisticated expression of regional Burgundy that punches far above its classification.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1977 by Philippe Charlopin with just 1.5 hectares of inherited vines, Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot has grown into a highly respected estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. Under the early mentorship of the legendary Henri Jayer, Philippe adopted a philosophy focused on low yields, complete destemming, and cold maceration, resulting in rich, voluptuous, and deeply expressive wines. Today, Philippe is joined by his son Yann, who oversees the white wine vinification, managing over 25 hectares of exceptional vineyards across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Chablis. The domaine is highly acclaimed for its lush, velvety Pinot Noirs—including old-vine village and Grand Cru expressions—as well as its precise, elegant Chardonnays.
