✨ Technical Specifications

Piccini crafts Solco under the Toscana IGT classification, employing the traditional Tuscan 'governo all'uso toscano' technique where a portion of dried grapes is added to referment the young wine. Sourced from clay-loam and limestone soils across central Tuscany, the wine relies primarily on Sangiovese, often complemented by small amounts of other indigenous or international varieties. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by brief maturation in large oak casks and cement vessels to enhance roundness while preserving bright primary fruit aromas.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1882 by Angiolo Piccini and Maria Teresa Totti in the heart of Chianti, Piccini has evolved over five generations into one of Italy's most celebrated and dynamic family-run wine enterprises. Guided today by Mario Piccini, the family balances deep-rooted Tuscan heritage with forward-thinking winemaking across an esteemed portfolio of estate vineyards. The producer is renowned for its expressive Sangiovese-driven wines, ranging from benchmark Chianti Classico and refined Brunello di Montalcino from Villa al Cortile to innovative cuvées like the pan-Italian blend Memoro and the Super Tuscan Sasso al Poggio.
