✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the wind-swept hillsides of the Pyrenean foothills in South-West France, Maestria is a powerful expression of the Madiran appellation, crafted by the renowned Plaimont cooperative. This deep, robust red wine is anchored by Tannat, the legendary regional grape known for its intense structure and antioxidant-rich profile, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines thrive in complex soils of clay, limestone, and stony grepp, which impart a distinct mineral depth. Historically, the fierce tannins of Tannat required years of patient cellar aging, but modern gentle extraction and micro-oxygenation techniques—pioneered in this very region—allow Maestria to showcase a harmonious balance of dark bramble fruit, black pepper, and refined, velvety tannins while retaining its legendary aging potential.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1979 under the visionary leadership of André Dubosc, Plaimont emerged from the union of passionate winegrowers from Plaisance, Aignan, and Saint-Mont in the heart of Gascony in Southwest France. Today, the cooperative represents a collective dedication to regional heritage, championing the revival and preservation of rare, indigenous grape varieties such as Tannat, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, and Pinenc. Situated across the foothills of the Pyrenees, the estate manages historic vineyards spanning Saint Mont, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, and Côtes de Gascogne. Plaimont is celebrated for its diverse and authentic portfolio, ranging from crisp, aromatic whites and vibrant rosés like the Fleur d'Artagnan and Saint Mont selections to structured, age-worthy red wines and refined sparkling expressions.
