Founded in 1958 by the local priest Don Fiorino Marengo, the Produttori del Barbaresco cooperative has set the global gold standard for cooperative winemaking. This Assortment Case represents the ultimate exploration of the Barbaresco appellation, typically featuring a selection of their nine legendary single-vineyard Riservas—such as Asili, Rabajà, Montestefano, and Ovello—which are only released in exceptional vintages. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, these wines undergo traditional long maceration and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. Because the winemaking recipe is kept identical across all bottlings, this collection serves as a pure, unadulterated masterclass in how subtle differences in soil composition, altitude, and exposure shape the final expression of Piedmont's noble grape.

Widely revered as the gold standard of viticultural cooperatives, Produttori del Barbaresco traces its ideological ancestry to Domizio Cavazza's 1894 Cantine Sociali, before its modern rebirth in 1958 orchestrated by local parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo and nineteen grower families. Today comprising over 50 member-growers managing approximately 120 hectares exclusively planted to Nebbiolo across the commune of Barbaresco, the cooperative oversees quintessential Langhe terroir characterized by calcareous-clay Sant'Agata marls and steep, sun-drenched hillsides. Under the longstanding stewardship of Managing Director Aldo Vacca, Produttori follows an unapologetically traditional cellar regimen: spontaneous temperature-controlled fermentations, month-long skin macerations with submerged caps, and lengthy maturation exclusively in massive neutral Slavonian oak botti. In premier vintages, the cellar vinifies nine legendary single-vineyard crus identically—including Asili, Rabajà, Montestefano, Ovello, and Pajè—to transparently showcase microclimate and soil nuances, yielding structured, classically austere, and exceptionally ageworthy Nebbiolo expressions.
