Prunotto, a historic estate in the heart of Piedmont, has been crafting exceptional wines since Alfredo Prunotto took over the local cooperative in 1923. Under the stewardship of the Antinori family, the winery continues to honor the distinct terroirs of the Langhe. This red wine, sourced from the prestigious commune of Monforte d'Alba, showcases 100% Nebbiolo grown in ancient Helvetian soils rich in clay, sand, and limestone. These compact soils impart a legendary structure, power, and longevity to the wine. Traditionally fermented and aged in large oak casks, this expression captures the classic Monforte character: deep ruby-orange hues, muscular tannins, and complex aromas of dried roses, dark cherries, leather, and tar.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Established in 1923 when Alfredo Prunotto acquired the cooperative 'Ai Vini delle Langhe,' the Prunotto winery is situated in Alba, in the heart of Italy's Piedmont region. Under the stewardship of the Antinori family since 1989, the estate has consistently championed the diverse terroirs of the Langhe and Monferrato hills. Prunotto balances traditional Piedmontese winemaking practices, such as aging in large oak casks, with modern precision to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines. The winery is celebrated for its exceptional single-vineyard expressions, including the Barolo Bussia and Barbaresco Bric Turot, alongside classic regional styles like Nebbiolo d'Alba Occhetti and Roero Arneis.
