Quinta dos Aciprestes is one of the historic estates of Real Companhia Velha, situated on the left bank of the Douro River in the Cima Corgo subregion. The estate's name is derived from the majestic cypress trees ('ciprestes') that stand guard over the property. While the estate is widely celebrated for its robust reds, the Quinta dos Aciprestes Branco represents a modern expression of Douro white winemaking. Grown on steep, sun-drenched schist slopes that plunge toward the river, the grapes benefit from a unique microclimate that balances intense daytime heat with cooling river breezes. This white wine is crafted primarily from indigenous Douro grape varieties, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the vibrant, primary fruit aromas and intense mineral character typical of the region's ancient soils.

Founded in 1756 by Royal Charter of King José I under the guidance of the Marquis of Pombal, Real Companhia Velha is the oldest and most historic wine enterprise in Portugal. With its storied maturation cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and sprawling estate vineyards across the Douro Valley, the company was central to the creation of the world's first officially demarcated wine region.
