✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the historic Roux family, 'La Moutonnière' is a refined expression of regional Burgundy Pinot Noir. The name evokes the pastoral heritage of the Côte d'Or, where ancient sheep pastures ('moutonnières') were gradually converted into prized vineyards over the centuries. Sourced from carefully selected plots, this wine is vinified using traditional Burgundian methods, including fermentation in temperature-controlled vats and aging in French oak barrels. The result is a classic, terroir-driven red that balances bright red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry with subtle earthy undertones and soft, approachable tannins, reflecting the family's multi-generational dedication to showcasing the purity of Pinot Noir.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1885 by Louis Fernand Roux in the Côte de Beaune village of Saint-Aubin, Domaine Roux Père et Fils has developed over five generations into one of Burgundy's most extensive family-owned estates. Under the stewardship of brothers Mathieu and Sébastien Roux, the domaine manages more than 70 hectares of proprietary vineyards spanning over 120 lieux-dits across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Côte Chalonnaise. The viticultural foundation relies on sustainable farming (lutte raisonnée) across predominantly south- and southeast-facing limestone and marl slopes. In the cellar, parcel-by-parcel vinification highlights site precision, balancing classical French oak maturation with contemporary aging in stainless steel and terracotta amphorae to preserve pure fruit vibrancy and minerality. Signature benchmark labels include the mineral-rich Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Les Cortons, Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, and structured regional benchmarks such as Les Murelles and Côte de Nuits Village Pinot Noirs.
