✨ Technical Specifications
Produced by the historic house of Rozès, established in 1855, Terras do Grifo Colheita Porto 2014 represents a single-harvest Tawny Port aged extensively in oak casks before bottling. Sourced from rugged schist slopes in the Douro Valley, the grapes undergo traditional partial fermentation stopped by the addition of neutral grape spirit. A Colheita Port captures the unique signature of a single year, undergoing gradual oxidation in wood that transforms fresh red fruit into complex, nutty, and dried fruit flavors while preserving dynamic Douro acidity.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1855 by the Bordeaux wine merchant Ostende Rozès, Rozès S.A. holds a distinguished legacy in the Douro Valley as the first non-English, non-Portuguese Port wine house. Now part of the prestigious Vranken-Pommery Monopole group, the producer cultivates prime vineyard holdings situated on rugged schist terraces across the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior sub-regions. By blending classical French winemaking heritage with Portugal's historic fortified traditions, the house crafts balanced and deeply expressive wines aged in its traditional cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Rozès is celebrated internationally for its rich range of Tawny, Late Bottled Vintage, Colheita, and Vintage Ports, alongside acclaimed Douro DOC still table wines.
