โจ Technical Specifications
The Hill Cuvรฉe Brut represents the vibrant, approachable side of the historic Scotchmans Hill estate. Drawing on their cool-climate expertise, this sparkling wine is crafted to showcase bright fruit expression and crisp, refreshing acidity. While Scotchmans Hill is deeply rooted in the volcanic soils of the Bellarine Peninsula, 'The Hill' range allows the winemakers to select premium fruit, often sourcing from select vineyards across South Australia to craft a consistent, lively, and celebratory style. It is made using classic sparkling techniques designed to preserve the pristine primary fruit characters of green apple, citrus, and subtle yeast autolysis, offering a sophisticated yet highly accessible sparkling experience.
๐พ About the Producer
Established in 1982 by David and Catherine Browne, Scotchmans Hill is a pioneering producer on the maritime Bellarine Peninsula within Victoria's acclaimed Geelong wine region. Planted on rich, volcanic basalt soils and moderated by maritime breezes from Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait, the estate benefits from a dry, cool maritime microclimate. Guided by long-tenured chief winemaker Robin Brockett, the winery focuses on minimal intervention and precision viticulture to reflect authentic regional terroir. Scotchmans Hill is renowned for its estate-grown, elegant Pinot Noir, complex Chardonnay, cool-climate Shiraz, and its prestige Cornelius single-vineyard collection.
