β¨ Technical Specifications
The Hill Moscato, crafted by the pioneering team at Scotchmans Hill, is a vibrant and inviting expression of the classic sweet, spritzy rosΓ© style. Sourced from select vineyards in South Australia, this wine benefits from the region's warm, sun-drenched days which fully ripen the grapes to develop intense, aromatic profiles of Turkish delight, musk, and freshly crushed grapes, balanced by cool nights that preserve essential acidity. The winemaking process is carefully controlled to arrest fermentation early, retaining the natural sugars of the fruit and creating a delicate, natural effervescence. This results in a beautifully balanced, low-alcohol sweet wine that captures a playful, contemporary Australian take on a historic European style.
πΎ About the Producer
Established in 1982 by David and Catherine Browne, Scotchmans Hill is a pioneering producer on the maritime Bellarine Peninsula within Victoria's acclaimed Geelong wine region. Planted on rich, volcanic basalt soils and moderated by maritime breezes from Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait, the estate benefits from a dry, cool maritime microclimate. Guided by long-tenured chief winemaker Robin Brockett, the winery focuses on minimal intervention and precision viticulture to reflect authentic regional terroir. Scotchmans Hill is renowned for its estate-grown, elegant Pinot Noir, complex Chardonnay, cool-climate Shiraz, and its prestige Cornelius single-vineyard collection.
