The Zeltinger Sonnenuhr 'Rotlay' Riesling is a magnificent expression of one of the Mosel's most prized historical parcels. The name 'Rotlay' derives from the local dialect, where 'Rot' refers to the iron-rich red slate unique to this specific enclave of the grand cru Zeltinger Sonnenuhr vineyard, and 'Lay' means slate. This unique soil composition, combined with extremely old, ungrafted vines on steep, south-facing slopes, yields a Riesling of extraordinary depth and complexity.
