Spier is one of South Africa's oldest wine farms, with a rich heritage dating back to 1692. The Signature Chenin Blanc is a vibrant tribute to the country's most widely planted grape, historically known as Steen. Sourced from selected vineyards across the Western Cape, the grapes benefit from a Mediterranean climate tempered by cool maritime breezes from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. To capture the pure, expressive fruit character of the variety, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and kept on its fine lees for a few months to add texture and complexity. The result is a classic, fruit-forward style showcasing bright aromas of guava, green apple, and pear, balanced by a crisp, refreshing acidity.

Established in 1692, Spier is one of South Africa's oldest and most historic wine farms, located along the Eerste River in the heart of the Stellenbosch region. Under the stewardship of the Enthoven family since 1993, the estate marries its rich heritage with a progressive commitment to regenerative farming, biodiversity, and organic practices. Spier is celebrated for its diverse portfolio of expressive wines, most notably its acclaimed '21 Gables' range, which pays homage to the farm's historic Cape Dutch architectural heritage through exceptional single-varietal Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a winemaking philosophy centered on minimal intervention, Spier consistently crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines that capture the unique maritime-influenced climate of the Coastal Region.
