The Spier Vintage Selection Pinotage is a single-varietal red wine sourced from selected vineyards within South Africa's Coastal Region. The region's diverse soils, predominantly decomposed granite and shale, combined with cooling maritime breezes, shape the grape's development. Vinification typically involves fermentation in stainless steel followed by maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels for approximately 12 to 14 months. This process integrates the naturally robust tannins of Pinotage, resulting in a medium-to-full-bodied wine characterized by dark berry fruit, subtle spice, and earthy undertones.
