✨ Technical Specifications
Taittinger Brut Réserve is the definitive ambassador of the house style, distinguished by a remarkably high proportion of Chardonnay for a non-vintage Champagne. Crafted from over 35 different crus and incorporating up to 30% reserve wines to ensure year-on-year consistency, this cuvée undergoes a minimum of three to four years of cellar aging on its lees—more than double the legal requirement. This extended maturation takes place deep within the historic Gallo-Roman chalk cellars (crayères) beneath Reims, which once belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. The result is a sparkling wine of exceptional balance, celebrated for its delicate golden hue, fine, persistent mousse, and a nose that sings of fresh brioche, white flowers, and stone fruits. It represents the legacy of the Taittinger family, who have championed elegance and lightness in Champagne for generations.
🍾 About the Producer
Tracing its foundations back to 1734 when the original house was established by Jacques Fourneaux, Champagne Taittinger took its modern identity in 1932 under the visionary leadership of Pierre Taittinger. Headquartered in Reims within the historic Champagne region of France, the family-owned house matures its finest cuvées inside UNESCO-listed Gallo-Roman chalk caves beneath the ancient Abbey of Saint-Nicaise. Taittinger is distinguished by its defining reliance on Chardonnay, crafting champagnes celebrated for their elegance, minerality, and delicate aromatics. The house's supreme expression is the iconic Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, a benchmark vintage champagne produced exclusively from top Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
