Tedeschi's Marne 180 Amarone della Valpolicella is a masterclass in the synergy between terroir and tradition. The name itself tells a story: Marne refers to the nutrient-rich marl clay soils that impart structure and elegance, while 180 represents the 180-degree amphitheater-like exposure of the vineyards, stretching from southeast to southwest to capture perfect sunlight. Crafted by the historic Tedeschi family, whose winemaking heritage in Veneto spans over four centuries, this wine is made using the traditional appassimento method. Hand-harvested grapes, primarily Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, are dried on racks for several months, concentrating their sugars, acids, and flavors before a slow fermentation and extensive aging in Slavonian oak casks. The result is a powerful yet remarkably balanced red wine, rich with history and the soul of Valpolicella.

With viticultural roots dating back nearly four centuries to 1630, the Tedeschi family is one of the most storied and respected names in Veneto's Valpolicella region. Based in Pedemonte, the estate gained international acclaim under Renzo Tedeschi and is today guided by his children Antonietta, Sabrina, and Riccardo, who uphold an uncompromising commitment to terroir expression and local heritage. Tedeschi was a pioneer of single-vineyard selection in the region with the landmark 1964 bottling of Capitel Monte Olmi, helping to redefine the standard for site-specific Valpolicella. Employing careful appassimento drying methods and rigorous vineyard management across estates like Maternigo and Fabriseria, the producer is world-renowned for its powerful, elegant Amarone della Valpolicella, expressive Valpolicella Superiore, and refined regional spirits.
