Hailing from the legendary Hudson Vineyard in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, the TOR 'Rock' Syrah is a masterclass in cool-climate California Syrah. Planted on stony, volcanic soils by famed grower Lee Hudson, this specific block forces the vines to struggle, yielding tiny, highly concentrated berries. Winemaker Jeff Ames employs traditional, low-intervention techniques, including native yeast fermentation and bottling without fining or filtration, to preserve the vineyard's raw power. The wine is celebrated for its deep complexity, balancing dark fruit characteristics with savory notes of cracked black pepper, smoked meats, and crushed stones, reminiscent of a classic Northern Rhône Hermitage but with California's signature richness.

Founded in 2001 by Napa Valley veteran Tor Kenward and his wife Susan, TOR Wines is an artisanal producer located in St. Helena, California. Drawing upon Kenward's nearly three decades of executive experience alongside legendary growers and winemakers at Beringer Vineyards, the estate is dedicated to crafting small-production, vineyard-designated wines from premier sites throughout Napa Valley.
